About Vincent A. Lanci
At 21, Vincent A. Lanci was hit by a drunk driver while walking home. He was left with a severe traumatic brain injury, a broken tibia and fibula, and a prognosis that gave him little chance of surviving the first night.
Vincent survived—but survival was only the beginning.
After waking from a coma, he faced the difficult work of relearning how to walk and talk. He also had to navigate memory difficulties, cognitive fatigue, changing relationships, communication barriers, and the loss of the identity and future he had imagined before the injury.

Rebuilding One Step at a Time
At the time of the crash, Vincent was one semester away from completing his finance degree at the University of Tampa.
He eventually returned to school, completed his undergraduate degree, earned his MBA, and was selected to deliver a commencement address. His academic recovery became proof that progress was possible—even when it was slower, harder, and different from what he had expected.
Vincent did not rebuild his life by waiting to feel completely ready. He learned to focus on what he could control and take the next achievable step.
That principle became the foundation of his recovery, his businesses, his advocacy, and his work as a speaker.

Turning Recovery Into Service
Vincent began writing and speaking to help other people understand the realities of life after traumatic brain injury.
He is now the author of eight books, including two focused on TBI recovery. His first book, Left for Dead: A Story of Redemption, allowed him to share the experiences, setbacks, and lessons that shaped his journey.
Vincent later became an adviser to Tampa General Hospital’s Patient and Family Advisory Coalition. He has spoken for hospital programs, supported patient-centered initiatives, and traveled to the Florida State Capitol to advocate for the brain injury community.
His work brings together the perspectives of a survivor, caregiver advocate, author, entrepreneur, and patient advisor.

Building a Life Beyond the Injury
Vincent’s story is not only about what happened to him. It is about what he chose to build afterward.
He became an entrepreneur, podcast host, producer, ghostwriter, educator, and advocate. Through his companies and media platforms, he has helped entrepreneurs, authors, mental-health advocates, healthcare organizations, and other leaders communicate their stories and expand their impact.
These experiences allow Vincent to connect with audiences facing many kinds of adversity—not only brain injury.
He understands what it means to lose a plan, question an identity, begin again, and move forward without knowing exactly where the next step will lead.

A Lived Experience TBI Recovery Expert
Vincent helps survivors, caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, and organizations understand the challenges that can continue long after a person leaves the hospital.
His TBI presentations address emotions and sensory overload, communication barriers, changing roles and identity, cognitive fatigue, and the Brain Battery.
Rather than relying on complicated clinical language, Vincent explains these experiences in ways people can understand, remember, and apply.
His lived-experience programs complement professional and clinical education but do not replace medical diagnosis, treatment, or individualized healthcare advice.

An Inspirational Message Built Around Action
Vincent’s inspirational keynote, From Left for Dead to Living Proof, gives audiences more than a temporary burst of motivation.
He helps people reframe adversity, focus on what they can control, take the next achievable step, rebuild confidence, and create purpose from difficult experiences.
His story creates an emotional connection. His practical framework gives audiences something they can use after the event ends.
